J.B.L. Khachi Govt. Senior Secondary School, Kumarsain, Distt. Shimla HP known for excellence in the field of education. School is situtated in the lap of nature beyond Narkanda. It was opened in the year 1934 to serve the purpose of education of this area. The first name of this school was Vidyadhar Anglo Vernacular lower middle school which was in the name of erstwhile rular of the princely state of Kumarsain Rana Vidyadhar Singh.
The first headmaster of this school was Sh. Kewal Ram Chandel. His term was 18th July 1934 to 16 December 1936. After that Pt. Devaki Nandan was the next Headmaster. Lower Middle was upgraded to Middle school in 1942 which was further upgraded to Govt. High School in 1949 and again upgraded to Senior Secondary School in March 1989. The school has been rechristened as Jai Bihari Lal Khachi G.S.S.S. Kumarsain to honour and commemorate the services rendered to the prosperity and progress of Kumarsain by him. The school has been produced a number of eminent luminaries who brought laureis to State and the Nation.
